WRESTLING FANS may have been exposed to the extreme levels of professional wrestling the moment they started viewing the Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), a promotion renowned for its hardcore-esque style filled with a frequent use of dangerous weapons like tables, chairs, and the like.
But besides the use of weaponry, ECW has also been renowned for its high flying acrobats especially with Terrance Michael Brunk aka Sabu, being one of the pioneers.
Sadly the wrestling world has lost one of the advocates of the aerial hardcore style of wrestling as Sabu recently passed away at 60 years of age.
Both WWE and TNA made an official announcement regarding his passing.
Sabu is considered to be one of the greatest ECW icons of all-time alongside Paul Heyman, Rob Van Dam (RVD), and The Sandman. From there he would produce highlights especially against the likes of RVD and Tazz.
Eventually WWE acquired ECW in which Sabu took his aerial artistry against the likes of Rey Mysterio and John Cena for their world championship belts.
Sabu has even wrestled with other promotions like TNA and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Due to his performances, Sabu was nicknamed as 'The Suicidal, Homicidal, Genocidal, Death-Defying Maniac.' He was inducted in the Hardcore Hall of Fame back in 2009, where his banner is seen in 2300 Arena, unofficially known as the ECW Arena.
