'MACHO Man' Randy Savage will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, the company announced on Monday (Tuesday Manila time).
Randy Mario Poffo in real life, Savage is the first member of the Hall of Fame's Class of 2015 who will be formally inducted in Wrestlemania 31 to be held in San Jose, California.
The WWE said the late wrestling superstar will be inducted to the ‘Hall’ by his friend Hulk Hogan.
Savage was a former catcher in minor league baseball before shifting to wrestling as he followed in the footsteps of his father.
He eventually became a household name worldwide and went on to win the WWE Championship in Wrestlemania IV in 1988.
Savage moved to WWE’s rival World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1994 and won the world heavyweight title the following year.
He died of of heart attack in 2011 at the age of 58.
