F-P-DUB! F-P-DUB!
Finally Pinoy wrestling has come back...to Makati, as fans who aspire to be 'Astig' can watch Filipino Pro Wrestling's very first show in 2024.
Featuring big time names like Ralph Imabayashi, Mike Madrigal, 'The Maestro' Cali Nueva, and some up-and-coming newcomers like Roxy Reeves, expect the FPW to deliver a pro wrestling masterclass that could light up for the ages.
To add to the excitement, tickets are also now in sale (as low as P850) due to the early bird deal which will last until June 16.
Anyway, here are some of the iconic matchups that are worth the watch on July 14 at 2:00 PM in Baked Studios, Yakal Street, Makati.

The YOLO Twins vs. The Bad Boys
FPW's premier tag team duo of the YOLO Twins will challenge two of the dirtiest local wrestlers in the scene, James "Idol" Martinez and Mike Madrigal.
Idol's networking skills, his sense of humor, his mind games, and his unpredictable hand chopping skills (aren't these illegal?) could bring the laughs and entertainment in the scene.
Meanwhile, Mike Madrigal's ruthless in-ring work, which involves shoving middle fingers and proudly living up to his jacka** nature could also be a sight to behold. Remember that time when he hilariously forced Chino Quinto to talk? It's that kind of personality that made him into the FPW champ.
This ultimately begs the question, will the rugged methods of Idol and The Walking Death prevail or will the YOLO Twins synergy be the deciding factor?

A battle of athleticism
Wanna learn how to gain muscle? Just watch Thiago's gym videos. You might even reach Mr. Olympia levels under his mentorship.
Or perhaps this isn't your cup of tea as you'd prefer to do aerial moves that Jeffrey is renowned for. Maybe conducting Swanton Bombs on a swimming pool and uploading them on TikTok suits you more.
It's a battle of strength vs. aerial prowess between Thiago and Jeffrey.

Master vs. Student
When Roxy Reeves first made her debut, she was filled with feistiness and determination to prove that she belongs in the FPW mainstage.
But her next bout will be like a level 1 main character going up against a level 100 final boss as she'll be up against one of the most esteemed Pinoy wrestlers, and her mentor, Ralph Imabayashi.
If Roxy is all about hardwork and grit, Imabayashi is filled with class and panache due to his technical prowess and experience, making this matchup a litmus test for Roxy.

A tale of two strikers
If you wish to see a matchup filled with some martial arts action, look no further than Quatro vs. Evan Carleaux (ECX). It's a battle between a good boy vs. his naughty counterpart, where we could see Quatro unleash the other side of his spectrum.
It's a clash of strikes between these two kicking maestros but they also mix and match with their ground work and wrestling skills to diversify their arsenal.
Quatro's MMA background would give him more ground and pound moves while ECX strength and his creative rope work is something that could broaden your wrestling knowledge.

The Duke meets the Masked Executioner
The mystery of FPW's masked man remains, but perhaps one will slowly uncover his backstory through looking at his in-ring work or maybe his mic skills against Duke Ortega.
There's a lot to be desired from these two wrestlers as the masked man Proximo has left us with a lot of intrigue. So far he has clashed against Jeffrey and Roxy Reeves and maybe there's more to him than meets the eye.
Meanwhile Duke Ortega is known to be one of the most underrated in-ring technicians in the local scene and maybe this could be his year to shine.
Perhaps a jack-in-a-box moment awaits us in this encounter.

Chino Guinto's last dance?
Chino Guinto's is desperate to win the coveted FPW championship, so much so that he manages to catch the attention of Mr. Red Ollero.
Mr. Ollero made things clear that if Chino Guinto loses any match before he becomes the FPW champ, he'll officially retire from in-ring competition.
A lot is at stake for Guinto especially with Dax Xaviera right in front of him. Will this be Guinto's last dance?

Aerial artistry
When two high flyers collide, expect a highlight reel like no other, which will be highlighted by Jan Evander and The Maestro Cali Nueva.
Not much needs to be said between these two aerial artists, except maybe marvelling at Evander's abs or Cali Nueva's gimmick and entrance music.
But one thing is certain, expect his matchup to go leaps and bounds, so get your tickets now on their website.
