FINALLY AFTER DECADES OF waiting, John Cena has finally returned to the dark side. After winning against Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Damian Priest, Drew McIntyre, and Logan Paul, Cena shook hands with Cody Rhodes.
Then in one of the most stunning twists in professional wrestling, John Cena decided to deliver the low blow to Cody Rhodes and pummel him using a golden watch in the Elimination Chamber 2025. Suddenly blood started coming out of the defending Undisputed WWE Champion.
Cena then stepped over a weakened Cody Rhodes with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson standing beside him.
Upon witnessing the turn of events, fans erupted upon seeing Cena transition to a heel, something which last happened back in 2003.
Fans riot
Many pondered if John Cena would turn heel especially during that time when fans started booing him back in the mids 2010s. WWE didn't give into their demands as Cena remained with his boyscout persona. Cena even teased the crowd on a potential heel turn by crafting a joke where he 'literally' turned his heel.
And in 2024-25 where Cena mentioned that this will be his final run, many expected him to remain as a face, only for WWE to suddenly pull the plug.
It seems WWE has replicated Hulk Hogan's tenure when he officially joined the New World Order and caused chaos in professional wrestling.

John Cena drops the mic
During the post event interview, various figures in the company have expressed their thoughts on Cena's villainous turn.
"I don't know, I've been fortunate to have been around the biggest things in this business for the last 30 years and I don't know if I've ever felt a more powerful moment of the entirety of John Cena's career, being that one guy you never really saw...this moment coming," started Paul "Triple H" Levesque, one of the executives of WWE.
He further reflected: "When you get to a place in your career where you only have months on your career, and your dream, and the thing that launched you into the world, to movie stardom, to everything else that happens to his life, it puts you in a different perspective and it puts you in a place of like it is now or never."
"You couldn't really blame John for doing that."
Cena also attended the press conference and literally dropped the mic in front of the press.
