HIDILYN Diaz and Nestor Colonia captured gold medals in the Asian Senior Weightlifting Championship recently in Phuket, Thailand.
Diaz swept the three gold medals in the women’s 53kg division while Colonia got two in the men’s 56kg class.
Diaz lifted 96kg in the snatch and 118kg in the clean and jerk for a 214kg total to sweep the three possible gold medals in the event.

Colonia collected the gold in the clean and jerk and total events with a lift of 153kg and 274kg respectively. He settled for silver in the snatch with a 121kg.
Diaz and Colonia are expected to compete in the World Championship in Houston later this year while aiming for spots in the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympics.
