VOLLEYBALL fans are clamoring for the live broadcast of the coming Shakey’s V-League Season 10 First Conference that kicks off on April 7 at The Arena in San Juan.
A number of them made the appeal on social networking sites in reaction to the Spin.ph report that the country’s premier commercial volleyball league is staying on AKTV-13, but will air the games on a delayed basis.
This developed as officials of Shakey’s V-League confirmed that ABS-CBN Sports has indeed expressed interest in getting the broadcast of its games over Studio 23.
ABS-CBN Sports was responsible for the coverage of the successful UAAP Season 75 women’s volleyball tournament.
Fans responded by writing their comments on Twitter and on Spin.ph’s comments box.
Some fans have made their feelings known on Twitter with the hashtag #SVLonStudio23, which became a trending topic on a hot Maundy Thursday.
The V-League games had previously been aired on a delayed basis by its former television partners, but the rising popularity of the sport has seen fans expressing their preference to view the games live on the small screen.
Some fans said Studio 23 would have been a better choice due in large part to the quality of the coverage of the UAAP tournament.
A few others also lauded the league for staying with AKTV since it has better signal reception in most parts of the country.

HATER2 – I do not understand why they chose to go with AKTV when ABS-CBN Sports expressed interest already. Unless there is an agreement between AKTV and the League, this is a no-brainer! Say goodbye to strong publicity and audience shares, SVL. What a joke.
