VOLERO Zurich started its campaign with huge 25-21, 25-19, 25-23 victory over Bangkok Glass on Tuesday in Pool B of the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Olesia Rykhliuk led Volero Zurich with 20 points, 16 coming from attacks, Dobriana Rabadzhieva chipped in 17 markers, and USA national team member Foluke Akinradewo contributed 11.
VakifBank Istanbul beat Hisamitsu Springs Kobe, 25-15, 25-15, 29-31, 25-18, in the tournament openiner.
Wilavan Apinyaopong scored 12 points, while American import Ashley Frazier registered 11 for Bangkok Glass.
