VNL 2024 Philippine leg returns to MOA Arena for second straight year

FOR the third straight year, the Philippines will host the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) and it will again take place at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena in Pasay City from June 18 to 23, 2024.

LOOK:

There was speculation that the event will be held at a different venue, but the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) confirmed on Monday that it will be held on the same site for the second successive year.

In its first hosting in 2022, the VNL was held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Headlining the eight-team cast for the Manila leg are fan-favorites and reigning VNL bronze medalists Japan featuring top volleyball stars Ran Takahashi, captain Yuki Ishikawa and Yuji Nishida. The US, ranked No. 2 in the world, will be making its first visit in the Philippines. The team will be bannered by Micah Christenson, TJ DeFalco and Erik Shoji.

Iran (#15) will also make its Manila debut while four teams are set for a return trip. These include 2021 VNL champion Brazil (#5), 2022 winner France (#8), Germany (#10) and Canada (#12).

    The third staging of VNL in the country will serve as the prelude to the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship to be hosted by the Philippines at the MOA Arena and Smart Araneta Coliseum in September next year.
