Ria Meneses comes up huge as Cagayan Valley makes short work of Baguio

CAGAYAN Valley needed less than an hour to beat Team Baguio, 25-11, 25-9, 25-11, on Thursday in the Shakey's V-League Season 12 Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

All players fielded scored at least two points for the Lady Rising Suns, with Ria Meneses leading the way with 11 points, skipper Angge Tabaquero scoring nine and Wenneth Eulalio eight.

Cagayan Valley took only 55 minutes to finish the match and move to the early lead with two wins in as many matches.

“Hindi naman sa mina-mani, maganda lang ang kundisyon ng players namin," said Cagayan Valley coach Nes Pamilar, whose squad scored a a similar straight-sets win over Fourbees-Perpetual in the conference opener.

"'Yung Baguio although selection iba pa rin ang level ng competition dito sa V-League," he added.

Florence Madulid scored seven points for Team Baguio, which shares the bottom of the standings with Philippine Coast Guard at 0-2.
