ADAMSON University snapped a two-game losing skid at the expense of the Power Smashers, 25-20, 24-26, 25-19, 25-22, in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.

Chiara May Permentilla, a transferee from La Salle Lipa, took charge with 24 points, from 19 kills, two blocks and three service aces, for the Lady Falcons.

Jema Galanza was also impressive on both offense and defense with 17 markers, 29 digs and 12 excellent receptions as Adamson improved to a 1-2 win-loss card after coming off back-to-back losses to Creamline and BanKo-Perlas.

“I really stressed to them today the team that was gonna win today is the team that is gonna be more consistent,” said Adamson coach Air Padda, who was pleased to see a total team effort from her wards.

Bernadette Flora had seven points and 13 digs, while Lea-Ann Perez and Christine Joy Soyud added seven markers apiece for the Lady Falcons.

Rookie setter Louie Romero made 31 of the team’s 38 excellent sets for Adamson.

“We knew that we were going up to a team that was similar to us, not in skill but just with the inexperience. So I just told them, tutok lang. That's what they had to do today,” said Padda.

Regine Arocha made 13 points for the Power Smashers, while Mary Dominique Pacres added 11 and Ann Esguerra contributed 10.

The Power Smashers dropped to 0-3 tied with University of the Philippines.
