POCARI team captain Michelle Gumabao downplayed the stunning straight-sets win against Alyssa Valdez-led Bureau of Customs in a V-League match that was expected to go the distance.

"It's just like any other win," said Gumabao moments after the win in the Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Saturday.

"It's just the elims so wala pa talaga kaming napapatunayan. It's still a long journey."

Still, it was a good confidence booster for the team which hopes to defend the title in the Reinforced Conference.

"We are trying to rack up as much wins as we can para pagdating ng semis or finals may puhunan kami syempre. Aside from points, yung confidence, yung tapang namin sa loob yun yung binibuild namin," she said.

Gumabao said there's still much work to do for the defending champions after bagging their third straight win.

"It was a good game for everybody pero di dapat dito nagtatapos porke natalo namin isa sa mga favorites, dapat tuloy tuloy pa rin trabaho namin," she said.
