PLDT Home Ultera once again imposed its might as the Ultra Fast Hitters bagged their second title in the Shakey’s V-League Season 12, bagging the Reinforced Conference crown just two months after ruling the Open Conference.

Ateneo star and UAAP back-to-back MVP Alyssa Valdez starred in the Ultra Fast Hitters’ Finals sweep of the Philippine Army, 25-21, 25-22, 22-25, 25-21, on Sunday at The Arena in San Juan.

The 22-year old Valdez was also named Finals MVP after she led PLDT Home Ultera with 22 points, anchored on 17 hits.

“I’m so happy that I was given the opportunity to play for the championship,” said Valdez, who missed all the previous matches before the Finals.

American reinforcement Sareea Freeman also had 17 points for the Ultra Fast Hitters, while San Sebastian standout Gretcel Soltones and team captain Sue Roces chipped in 10 points apiece as PLDT Home Ultera coach Roger Gorayeb completed a hat-trick of V-League titles.

It was not an easy task for PLDT Home Ultera as it face an equally talented Philippine Army Team, the same squad it defeated in the Open Conference on October.

The Ultra fast Hitters came from two sets down until Valdez bailed them out to complete a comeback,16-25, 20-25, 26-24, 29-27, 18-16, in Game One.

PLDT Home Ultera’s Janine Marciano also bagged Second Best Outside Spiker award and Lizlee Ann Pantone was the Best Libero.
