Myla Pablo rewarded with five-year contract extension, new car by Pocari Sweat
Myla Pablo received a new Hyundai Accent car as a bonus after signing a five-year contract extension with V-League side Pocari Sweat.

POCARI Sweat top hitter Myla Pablo signed a five-year contract with the team after playing a vital role in the Lady Warriors' run to back-to-back championships in the Shakey's V-League.

The former National University star emerged as the Finals MVP in the Open Conference and showed she can hold her own against some of the imports in the Reinforced Conference.

Pocari Sweat team manager Eric Ty did not disclose the worth of the contract, but he revealed that a white Hyundai Accent car came as a bonus for Pablo, who was honored and pleasantly surprised with the long-term agreement.

"Syempre sobrang saya kasi may trust sila sa akin. 'Di ako nagdalawang isip kasi alam kong aalagaan nila ako, nagtitiwala ako sa kanila," said Pablo on Tuesday during her contract signing.

"Ako din naman nagulat dahil sa ibang teams, one year (contract) lang. Isa ako sa players na binigyan (ng mahabang contract), sobrang saya and thankful lang ako kay God and sa mga coaches. 'Di ko sila (management) bibiguin," she added.

Ty said it was the Pocari Sweat's priority to retain the core of the championship team as it aim to continue a growing winning tradition in the pioneering 13-year old league.

"Long-term strategy is to preserve a championship team," said Ty. "In our case, well try our best to preserve and bring them back and maybe signing a few more to longer term contracts."
