Laoag puts focus on securing playoff berth in crucial match against winless Baguio
Jessica Galanza looks to bounce back from a dismal effort to lead Laoag against Baguio.

LAOAG hopes to secure at least a playoff berth in the semifinals of the Shakey's V-League Season 13 Open Conference when it takes on winless Baguio at the Blue Eagle gym in Ateneo on Saturday.

Coming off a bitter defeat, 26-28, 23-25, 17-25, to Bali Pure on Wednesday, the Power Smashers aim to regroup and recover in time for their 6:00 p.m. match against the Summer Spikers.

Although Laoag coach Nes Pamilar was fuming with the officiating in their last game, the veteran mentor vowed to get back in the gym and prepare for their next assignment.

“Next game, tomorrow, magpapractice tayo ulit,” said Pamilar, who did not file a formal complaint on officiating of their previous match.

After being held to just six points apiece, the Adamson pair of Jessica Galanza and Mylene Paat are expected to get back on track together with Arellano spiker Jovielyn Prado to lead the charge for Laoag.

Meanwhile, Baguio guns to add to the woes of Laoag as the Summer Spikers shoot for their first win in the tournament.

Baguio is currently down at the bottom with a 0-4 win-loss record.
