PHILIPPINE Army’s Jovelyn Gonzaga was named Most Valuable Player and Best Opposite Spiker of the the V-League Reinforced Conference on Saturday.

It was the second MVP trophy in the league for the Army’s Gonzaga after being named top player of the Season 10 Open Conference.

The Lady Troopers, however, bowed to PLDT in the opener of the best-of-three finals.

“Hindi ko ine-expect na makukuha ko ang MVP,” said Gonzaga.

“Kanina dominated namin ang laro pero wala kaming panapos. Pero malaking bagay ito para sa morale ko,” added the player from Guimaras.

Army’s Honey Tubino was named First Best Outside Spiker, Janine Marciano of PLDT Home Ultera was the Second Best Outside Spiker and her teammate Lizlee Pantone won the award for Best Libero.

University of the Philippines’ Kathy Bersola and Sheena Mae Chopitea were named First and Second Best Middle Blockers, while Janet Serafica was named Best Setter.
