PHILIPPINE Army advanced to the V-League semifinals after downing Philippine Coast Guard, 25-4, 25-12, 33-31, on Sunday in the V-League Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

Jovelyn Gonzaga scored 20 points, Mary Palma added 13 and Honey Royse Tubino chipped in with 11 as the Lady Troopers scored their fourth win in as many matches.

Army needed only 17 minutes to take the first set but struggled in the third.

Errors by the Lady Troopers allowed the Lady Dolphins to extend the third set, 31-31, before Army sealed the win with Tubino's off the block spike and a service ace by Palma.

Rossan Fajardo scored seven points for Coast Guard, which bowed out of the semifinal contention with a 1-4 card in the six-team tournament.
