NU Lady Bulldogs make quick work of winless PUP to gain V-League quarterfinals

NATIONAL University dominated Polytechnic University, 25-15, 25-18, 25-15, to complete the quarterfinalists from Group A on Sunday in the V-League Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

Jaja Santiago and skipper Jorelle Singh combined for 23 points for the Lady Bulldogs, who needed an hour and nine minutes to take the win.

NU improved its win-loss record to 3-1, tying Arellano in second spot behind undefeated Far Eastern University (4-0). University of the Philippines is in fourth spot with a 2-2 card.

Syra Jane Romo had 10 points for PUP, out of the quarterfinal picture with no win to show in four outings, same as the mark of University of Batangas.

“Iminimize lang namin ang errors namin sa service receive,” said NU assistant coach Edjet Mabbayad, noting that the Lady Bulldogs had only 17 miscues this time after giving away 41 points through errors their previous match.

Rookie Audrey Paran added nine markers, while Roselyn Doria contributed seven for the Lady Bulldogs.
