FAR Eastern University head coach Shaq Delos Santos wants more from his team despite beating a tough University of the Philippines team without skipper Bernadeth Pons.

Delos Santos believes his team still has more to offer after barely escaping UP in a five-set thriller, 25-23, 25-23, 21-25, 21-25, 15-9, to take the opener of their battle for third series in the Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference at the PhilSports Arena on Monday.

“Siyempre happy, but para sa amin meron pa yan eh. May ibubuga pa,” Delos Santos said.

"Siguro, honestly speaking, nasa adjustment period pa din na nawala si Pons sa loob ng court," he added.

The Morayta-based squad took an early two set lead before finding themselves scramble to a fifth set against a resilient Lady Maroons squad. Still, Delos Santos found consolation in the fact that they grabbed a one-match lead, unlike in their semifinals series against Ateneo.

"Sabi ko nga sa kanila, ‘Grabe kayo magpahinga, dalawang set yung binibigay nating easy sets,” said Delos Santos.

"Pero good yun na nakaya namin manalo," he added. "Sabi ko nga, tapos na yung apat na set ulit, kasi ganoon din yung first game (against Ateneo) namin eh, yung laban namin. Kalimutan na ang lahat at mag-focus sa last set kasi ayun yung importante."
