ELLA de Jesus missed Ateneo’s match against San Sebastian on Sunday due to an eye infection but is expected to return to action next week in the V-League Collegiate Conference.

De Jesus made an assurance she can play on Sunday when Ateneo faces La Salle Dasmarinas.

The Lady Eagles are already without rookie Kat Tolentino (ACL), setter Jia Morado (shoulder injury), Mae Tajima (right ankle sprain) and Therese Gaston (left shin injury).

Still, Ateneo proved too strong for San Sebastian and scored a straight-sets win to grad a share of the group lead with College of St. Benilde.

“Na-infection ’yung eye ko eh kaninang umaga tapos nung nagpa-check ako infected daw,” said De Jesus.

“It’s bleedinh… but it’s nothing serious naman painful lang,” she added. “I need to rest lang for a while maybe I can play on next game,” she said.
