SANTIAGO sisters Dindin and Jaja face off for the first time as Philippine Army and PLDT Home Ultera clash on Sunday in the Shakey’s V-League Season 12 Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

The match starts at 2:00 p.m.

Elder sister Dindin is a guest player for the powerhourse Lady Troopers, while Jaja is with the Ultra Fast Hitters.

Army and PLDT both won their opening matches and will be gunning for a share of the early lead.

The Lady Troopers scored a three-set demolition of over Fourbees-Perpetual, while the Ultra Fast Hitters came up with a similar win over Baguio.

“Excited na ako na makaharap siya,” said Dindin.

“Every training naman nagtatapat kami pero ito ’yung first time na magkakalaban talaga kami, sa practice naman sa NU nagyayabangan kami,” she shared. “Pero at the end of the game magkapatid pa rin naman kami.”

Dindin, at 6-foot-2 a couple inches shorter of Jaja, said last year’s UAAP rookie of the year has the advantage.

“Ako talaga ang pantapat kay Jaja pero si Jaja kaya niya ako ibabawan,” she said. “Pero gagawin ko ang best ko at alam kong siya hindi rin papatalo.”

Jaja has been vocal that her “Ate Din” is her idol and inspiration, but Dindin says she knows that her “baby sister” wants to prove something.

“Alam ko gusting-gusto niya ako makatapat,” said Dindin. “Bata pa lang siya may gusto na siya i-prove sa akin, gusto niyang ipakita na, Ate Din, heto na ako ngayon.”
