CREAMLINE star Alyssa Valdez hopes to handle 'external factors' when they hit the road for a Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference game in Tuguegarao, Cagayan.

The star-studded Cool Smashers will take on BanKo Perlas on Saturday and PayMaya on Sunday at the People’s Gym in the league’s first out-of-town games for the season.

Creamline is favored to win both games, but Valdez has cautioned against overconfidence, saying a lot of outside factors - from venue to effect of travel - can come into play when you play out of town.

“It’s a different schedule. Kasi we go out of town din so syempre may mga external factors din also but come to think of it, si coach Tai (Bundit) naman for sure, he’s gonna prepare us for all those,” said Valdez.

Creamline is coming off an impressive win over Petro Gazz, 25-18, 25-16, 25-13, in the season-opener, reinforcing its status as the overwhelming tournament favorite.

The fomer Ateneo star admitted that she feels the pressure that comes with being an odds-on favorite, but at the same time embraces the challenge of living up to expectations.

“Pressured but happy, in a way. But I think that’s one of our motivations, to push ourselves pa, it challenges us to perform well,” she said. "You have to step on the gas and really perform well with your teammates.
