CREAMLINE dragged Perlas into the round robin quarterfinals after pulling off a 25-19, 25-20, 23-25, 25-14 win to end the preliminary round of the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference on a high note on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan

With the win, the Cool Smashers also gave the Power Smashers an outright semis berth as Creamline pushed Perlas down to 5-5, while the Power Smashers, who won over BaliPure earlier, got a 6-4 win-loss card.

Tied with Pocari Sweat at the No. 2 spot, the Power Smashers got the superior quotient that secured them the last outright semis berth.

Alyssa Valdez finished with 20 points for Creamline, while Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin added 17 and American reinforcement Laura Schaudt added 16.

“I just told the players that no matter what the standings is, what’s important is were slowly getting there so let’s get the momentum,” said Creamline assistant coach Oliver Almadro.

Brazilian import Rupia Inck made 20 points for Perlas, while Amy Ahomiro chipped in 11.
