THE Clash of Heroes volleyball event has been moved to May 15 still at the Filoil Flying V Centre to give way to the UAAP Season 79 volleyball finals.

Organizers PSC-POC Media Group and Larong Volleyball Sa Pilipinas said the exhibition games among members of the Philippine national women’s and men’s pool was moved to allow pool members from Ateneo and La Salle to see action.

The Clash of Heroes, originally slated on April 28, will be used by the national coaches as a basis for selecting the players for the national teams bound for international competitions including this year’s Southeast Asian Games.

“In deference to the UAAP finals between Ateneo and La Salle, the PSC-POC Media Group and LVPI decided to move the Clash of Heroes to a later date, probably second week of May or as soon as the UAAP champion has been crowned," the organizers said in their statement.

La Salle players who are part of the women’s national pool are Kim Dy, Kim Fajardo, Dawn Macandili, while there are reports Ateneo’s Jia Morado, Maddie Madayag, Kat Tolentino, and even men’s team player Marck Espejo will be invited to join tryouts even though they are not officially part of the national pool.

“This will give both Ateneo and La Salle players a golden chance to see action and more fans to witness the first public appearance of the national men’s and women’s pool," they added.

Tickets already purchased will be honored during the new playdate.

Tickets are available at the PSC-POC Media Group office at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Pablo Ocampo St., Manila.
