FEU shakes off sluggish start to score second win and eliminate San Beda from V-League

FAR Eastern University shook off a sluggish start to and asserted its mastery of San Beda, 23-25, 25-6, 25-11, 25-14, on Wednesday in the Shakey's V-League Collegiate conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The Lady Tamaraws scored its second win in as many matches to tie University of Santo Tomas atop Group B and advance to the next phase of the tournament.

After a sluggish opening frame, FEU asserted its mastery of San Beda in the succeeding sets to come up with a 23-25, 25-6, 25-11, 25-14 decision in Shakey's V-League Collegiate conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Wednesday.

Toni Basas led the Lady Tamaraws with 19 points, Bernadeth Pons scored 14 and Mary Remy Joy Palma added 13.

The victory also eliminated the Lady Red Spikers, who suffered their third setback in as many matches.

"Diesel ata ang naikarga namin, medyo mabagal simula," said FEU coach Shaq de los Santos.

"Mas nagawa lang namin yung mga pina-practice namin at nakapag-execute mula second set."

Janine Marciano paced San Beda with eight markers.
