TEAM Baguio finally scored its first victory in the V-League, while keeping Philippine Coast Guard winless, 25-27, 25-18, 21-25, 25-23, 15-12, on Thursday in the Season 12 Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

Florence Maulid and skipper Cindy Benitez each scored 17 points for the Summer Spikers, who moved out of the cellar with a 1-3 win-loss card and left the Lady Dolphins alone in the bottom at 0-4.

Krissian Tsuchiya added 16 and Roxanne Almonte contributed 11 for Baguio, which needed two hours and 11 minutes to complete the 0in.

It was a see-saw match that saw Coast Guard win the first and third sets, and it seemed the Lady Dolphins could seal the win when they took a slim 7-6 lead in the fifth.

But Baguio scored three straight points to take control, 9-7, and maintained the gap to finally register their first win after three heartbreaking losses.

Rossan Fajardo scored 29 points, Kath Magsumbol had 19 and Hyrize Macabuhay chipped in with 11 for Coast Guard.
