STREAKING Ateneo and struggling Philippine Air Force battle each other on Tuesday for the remaining semifinals berth of the Shakey’s V-League Season 11 Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Eagles will be going to the lone game at 4 p.m. fresh from completing a five-game sweep of the quarterfinals to even their record at 5-5 and create a triple-way tie with the Air Spikers and Cagayan Valley.

But the Lady Rising Suns earned a berth to the semifinals by virtue of their victory over Air Force last Sunday, necessitating a do-or-die battle between the Lady Eagles and Air Spikers for the last bus to the next round.

Alyssa Valdez, the current league leader in scoring with a total of 324 points, is again expected to carry the load for the reigning UAAP women’s champion.

On the other hand, the Air Spikers will rely on former University of Santo Tomas standouts Maika Ortiz and Judy Ann Caballejo.

Winner of the match will face top-seeded Philippine Army in the best-of-three semifinals series, while PLDT Home Telpad and Cagayan Valley clash in the other semifinals pairing.

The Final Four starts on Thursday.
