CAGAYAN Valley started its title bid on a high note, downing Fourbees-Perpetual, 25-13, 25-12, 25-10, in the Shakey's V-League Season 12 Open Conference on Sunday at The Arena in San Juan.

Lady Rising Suns team captain Angge Tabaquero and Jannine Marciano scored nine points apiece, while all other Cagayan Valley players finished with at least a point.

Former Far Eastern University standouts Wenneth Eulalio and Rosemarie Vargas each had six markers, while Aiza Maizo-Pontillas and newcomer Ria Meneses of University of Santo Tomas had five points each.

"May experience ang players sa amin kaysa sa kalaban," said Cagayan Valley coach Nes Pamilar, whose team has been together for three years.

"'Yun experience ang naging factor against kalaban."

Cagayan Valley, winner of last year's Foreign Reinforced conference, registered four blocks against none by Fourbees-Perpetual and finished the match in 68 minutes.

The Lady Rising Suns also dominated from the service line with 12 service aces, while the Lady Altas had three.

Cagayan Valley recorded 23 excellent digs, 12 more than Fourbees-Perpetual.

Chie Saet's 17 excellent sets was also higher than the total successful sets recorded by the Lady Altas (10). Cagayan Valley had 31 in total.

"Siguro napaghandaan lang namin ng mabuti ang laro," said Pamilar.
