THE Shakey’S V-League formally kicked off its 13th Season with a parade of the eight participating teams in the Open Conference on Sunday at The Arena in San Juan.

Bali Pure star Alyssa Valdez arrived from Doha, Qatar to lead the oath of sportsmanship during the opening rites together with Jeffrey Jimenez of Instituto Estetico Manila, the representative for the Spikers’ Tuft men’s volleyball tournament.

Valdez was in Doha for a volleyball exhibition match with fellow Bali Pure players Denden Lazaro and Amy Ahomiro.

Aside from Bali Pure, National University, University of the Philippines, Kia, Air Force, new team Pocari Sweat, and provincial teams from Baguio and Iriga attended the opening rites.

The 22-year old former Ateneo star, however, immediately left the venue as she had to rush to her volleyball camp in La Salle-Dasma at 2 p.m.

Meanwhile, the six participating teams in the Spikers’ Turf were also present led by inaugural champion IEM, Air Force, Navy, Cignal and new teams Team Volleyball Manila and Bountry Fresh.
