LEAGUE-leading Sandugo San Sebastian hopes to have an easy day at work when it takes on bottom team Far Eastern University in the Shakey’s V League Open Conference Tuesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
The Lady Stags, who claimed the top spot when it nipped defending champion and erstwhile unbeaten Philippine Army, 25-16, 17-25, 17-25, 25-18, 15-10, are looking to have a light workout as they try to complete a first-round sweep.
“Sasamantalahin namin na wala pang panalo yung FEU,” said Gorayeb.
The Lady Tams absorbed their fourth loss in as many starts on Sunday, bowing to the Philippine Navy 25-15, 23-25, 25-15, 23-25, 14-16.
“Try namin ma-maintain yung No. 1 spot at sana mag 5-0 kami bago mag second round,” said Gorayeb, who doesn’t seem to be wary of a possible upset and has no exact game plan against the Lady Tams in their 4 p.m. face off.
Philippine Army and Ateneo try to bounce back as they battle in the 6 p.m. match.
“After sa talo namin sa Sandugo, still maglalaro pa din kami ng best namin against sa Ateneo,” said Philippine Army coach Rico de Guzman. “More practice pa kami, improve pa namin ang blocking at floor defense at pa-kundisyon pa para may hangin kami at tatagal kami hanggang fifth set.”
The Lady Troopers, in second spot with a 3-1 win-loss record, will try to stop the Ateneo attackers led by 2011 Finals MVP Alyssa Valdez, team captain Gretchen Ho and Dzi Gervacio.
