Jaroensri Baulee won MVP and Best Scorer honors while two other Thai imports also bagged the top individual titles in the Shakey’s V-League First Conference on Sunday.
San Sebastian’s import Baulee scored 40 points against University of Santo Tomas in Game 2 of their best-of-three semifinals which San Sebastian lost.
Utaiwan Kaensing of Santo Tomas received the Best Attacker award while Lithawat Kesinee of Ateneo captured the Best Blocker plum.
Also receiving individual awards were Judy Caballejo of UST ( Best Server ), Angelique Dionela of University of Perpetual Help (Best Digger), Jam Ferrer of Ateneo (Best Setter), Denise Lazaro of Ateneo (Best Receiver), and Sandra Delos Santos of University of Perpetual Help (Most Improved Player).
It was a big day for Baulee, who bucked knee injury to record 33 kills as the San Sebastian beat University of Perpetual Help, 25-14,25-23, 16-25, 32-34, 15-9, in the opener of their best-of-three series for third place at The Arena in San Juan.
Analyn Benito also came away with 21 attacks and three service aces while Dafna Rubinos had four blocks and finished with 10 points and setter Rubie de Leon chipped in nine markers for San Sebastian.
Ateneo and UST are playing in the title series. SSC looks to clinch third place on Tuesday.
