UNIVERSITY of Sto. Tomas beat Perpetual, 25-15, 25-22, 25-15, at the start of the bronze-medal match of the inaugural Shakey's Super League National Invitationals on Wednesday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

Just days after a heartbreaking five-set semis loss to reigning UAAP champion La Salle, the Tigresses vented their ire on a Lady Altas side led by NCAA Season 98 MVP Mary Rhose Dapol.
Reg Jurado lit it up with 19 points — 10 in the third set alone- for the España squad, which can clinch a podium finish with another victory in Game 2 on Saturday, 2 p.m.
UST's smooth start was quickly challenged by the Lady Altas in Set 2, where they took a late 19-15 edge. But Jurado & Co. promptly doused Perpetual's comeback and never looked back.
Boholana rookie ace Angeline Poyos and Mary Banagua had 10 points apiece for UST.
Dapol was the lone Lady Altas star in double figures with 12 markers.
