UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas spiker Mela Tunay will be out for a month with a fractured nose sustained in a collision with teammate Pam Lastimosa in Sunday’s V-League match against Technological Institute of the Philippines.
The fifth-year player is set to undergo surgery on Tuesday and will be sidelined for a month, which could mean the end of her stint in the Collegiate Conference of the pioneering league.

Tunay and Lastimosa collided after the both of them went for the ball late in the third set. The Tigresses went on to win the match, 25-16, 25-19, 24-26, 25-14, and clinch a quarterfinal berth.
“I’ll be missing games daw e,” said Tunay via Twitter on Monday.
“Kasi ooperahan ako bukas and I cannot resume sports activities until more or less a month daw. Depende pa,” she added.
