UST coach Kungfu Reyes sees Tigresses fired up for late playoff push after Holy Week break

    Mar 30, 2018

UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas coach Kungfu Reyes hopes the Tigresses come out of the Holy Week break all charged up before they return to action in the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament.

In observance of the Holy Week, the weary Tigresses took time to reflect and relax with their respective families, while some stayed in their dorms, before the league resumes action on April 4.

But after the break, Reyes hopes to see his UST team back in full focus for the task at hand of making the semifinals.

“Magpahinga ulit kami nang konti tapos magmumuni-muni, magrereflect siyempre ‘di namin makakalimutan ‘yun. ‘Yun ‘yung obligasyon natin bilang isang katoliko,” said Reyes.

“‘Yung iba uuwi para makita ulit ‘yung loved ones nila at mga magulang nila and then from there, magkaroon sila ng mas complete (rest),” he added.

Reyes also stressed that he wants his injured players to maximize the week long break to recuperate.

Still, the outspoken mentor gave his players a 30- to 45-minute workout that they must do at home for them to stay in shape.
