YSA Jimenez proved she’s always ready to step up for University of Santo Tomas anytime her team needs her.
The seldom-used rookie showed her worth scoring 10 points to help the Tigresses in beating University of the East, 25-20, 25-20, 25-16, on Saturday to boost their Final Four chances in UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The rookie out of UE high school didn’t disappoint her coach Kungfu Reyes as she was fielded for the struggling Dimdim Pacres and made an immediate impact against her former school that boosted UST chances in the Final Four with a 7-4 win-loss record at No.3.
Reyes has been saying that UST shouldn’t be a Rondina-Laure show, he wants 13 strong Tigresses to show up as they try to make a grand return to the Final Four and eventually in the championship round.
That’s why Jimenez promises to be there for her teammates and step up when it mattered most.
