JONNA Perdido has been ruled out of UAAP Season 87 for University of Sto. Tomas with a complete ACL tear on her left knee.
The Tigresses’ opposite hitter suffered the injury in an awkward landing midway through their Shakey’s Super League Pre-Season Championship bronze-medal match loss to FEU last November.
It was only two months later in which the official diagnosis was made known.

In a report by The Varsitarian, Perdido has undergone surgery and is already in the early stages of her rehabilitation process expected to last for roughly a year.
Perdido played a central role in UST’s historic runner-up finish in Season 86 where the Tigresses landed the No. 2 seed in prelims play.
What remains of the Tigresses’ offense ahead of their redemption bid in less than a month include the likes of reigning Rookie of the Year Angge Poyos, Xyza Gula, Renee Peñafiel and Kyla Cordora.
The UAAP Season 87 volleyball tournaments will begin on Feb. 15 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
