EIGHT games into Casiey Dongallo’s UAAP career, the University of the East super rookie has found herself at the center of transfer rumors — linking her to various rival schools.
Despite UE's 2-6 record thus far, Dongallo has averaged an impressive 23.3 points, 8.9 digs, and 4.8 receptions over eight games, making her an attractive proposition for other teams.
Dongallo, however, remains steadfast in her commitment to UE, emphasizing her loyalty to the rebuilding team.
“I really don’t have a plan on leaving UE kasi nagsimula na po kami eh. Nakikita naman po ‘yung progress ng UE so bakit aalisan ko pa?” Dongallo asked.
Interim head coach Doc Obet Vital, filling in for the suspended Jerry Yee, criticized those spreading misinformation online, particularly regarding the future of UE's key players. He assured that there are no immediate plans for any player to depart, emphasizing unity within the team.
“I know there are lots of posts of her (Casiey Dongallo) already in a UST uniform, and talks with management with La Salle and rumors about SGA and her. I just wanna clarify, SGA, Frank Lao has been committed to UE and the girls for three years. That’s his commitment. He verified that also as well as the girls.”
Vital added: “All the UE girls are not going anywhere as a matter of fact, dadagdagan pa yan next year. So I just wanna press on that so we’re clear. There are a lot of people who love to make news, they wanna make news. That’s okay if they wanna make news, but these are the facts.”
