UNIVERSITY of the East snapped a five-year dry spell against Adamson, 26-24, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20, on Saturday in UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Casiey Dongallo rediscovered her mojo with a game-high 28 points on 25 attacks, two blocks and one ace to halt the Lady Warriors’ six-game losing streak since its season-opening win over Ateneo.

"Before the game started, sinasabi na samin ni Doc (Obet Vital) na we have to play kung ano man 'yung game namin. We have to give our all. Round 2 na po 'to, hindi na po namin makakalaro ulit 'yung Adamson so kailangang ibigay na namin 'yung lahat at 'wag na po kaming mag-hold back kasi hindi na po namin sila makakatapat," said Dongallo.

It was also UE’s first win over Adamson since completing a sweep of the San Marcelino side in Season 81 (2019).
Both sides split the first two sets by the smallest of margins before Dongallo erupted for her sixth game scoring 20 points or more in her breakout rookie campaign.
UE's leading scorer had the lion's share of the Lady Warriors' 55 attacks (25) which proved to be enough to get the better of Adamson's 47 hits and 31 faults. But Dongallo didn't carry the scoring load alone as Riza Nogales had a career-best 17-point outing on top of Kayce Balingit's 10 markers.
The Lady Falcons, meanwhile, absorbed its fourth straight loss and now finds themselves in a three-way logjam for fifth place at 2-6 (win-loss) with UE and Ateneo.
