UNIVERSITY of the East head coach Jerry Yee cried foul on the UAAP’s decision to temporarily suspend him for three months.
In a decision released on Sunday, the league said it suspended Yee for 'conduct violative of th league's purposes.'

This comes after a formal complaint was lodged by an unnamed UAAP member school to the league in light of Yee’s departure from Adamson Lady Falcons after a one-year stint before joining UE in Season 86.
“Well I think it’s uncalled for and parang walang due process. I mean, hindi naman ako nakunan ng side about this. Nagulat din ako eh. Kumbaga may ganito pa pala. Gulat and surprised,” Yee told mediamen on Sunday.

Yee, who was made aware of the decision on Friday afternoon through UE president Zosimo Battad and UAAP Season 86 president Rod Roque, said he got wind of a possible action from the UAAP before the volleyball season started.
“I found out [the league’s decision] Friday afternoon eh. So probably strategies yun or what. So Friday afternoon and well basically patapos na yung araw, patapos na yung office, so, appeal would be made probably Monday. Coach [Rod] Roque [it] mentioned to me last time.”
Yee added: “There was mention about this [possible ruling] mga a few weeks ago before mag-start yung UAAP na the university was trying to push for something like this.
"And then they had to heed sa UAAP board of trustees and everything so, akala namin wala namang basis or it wouldn’t hold ground so, anyway, eto na. Andito na tayo.”
Known to be a man of few words on the court, Yee made it clear that he’s open to speaking about the matter should he be given the opportunity in a proper forum to do so.
“Sana mapakinggan ‘yung side namin because hindi namin alam kung anong naganap eh. Merong decision and merong mga words or allegations so if tatanungin ako, or if bibigyan ako ng audience, I think I can speak up.
“We were somehow prepared na magkakaron ng ganitong scenario kung saka sakali so, kami, laro, practice, tuloy tuloy lang naman yun” the now-suspended UE mentor said on how his team handled the decision.
