LA SALLE defeated Adamson, 22-25, 25-14, 25-16, 25-19, on Sunday to stay unbeaten in the UAAP Season 85 women's volleyball tournament at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
The Lady Spikers' 6-0 start matches their best opening stretch in Season 77.
Angel Canino had 21 points for La Salle as Thea Gagate and Fifi Sharma combined for 11 blocks.
"Focus lang ulit kami sa last game against NU and sa sistema na pinapatakbo ni Coach Ramil para makuha namin 'yung panalo," said La Salle skipper team captain Mars Alba, who had 15 excellent sets.
La Salle takes on NU on Wednesday.
The Lady Spikers reportedly will have Ramil de Jesus back calling the shots in the second round.
"Coach Ramil, hello po! Ito na po, nanalo kami ngayon, we love you coach!" said Alba in the post-match interview.
La Salle had 17 blocks against one by Adamson, as the Lady Spikers kept the Lady Falcons’ 1-2 punch of Kate Santiago and Trisha Tubu' to a combined 25 points.
