UNIVERSITY of Sto. Tomas returned to its winning ways on Wednesday, dealing winless University of the East a 25-17, 25-16, 25-17 beating in the UAAP Season 85 women's volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Eya Laure took charge with 17 points on 15 attacks, one block, and an ace as the Tigresses bounced back from a loss to Adamson and moved a game behind the second-running Lady Falcons on a 6-3 (win-loss) record.

"Pagkukulang pa rin po namin this game 'yung pagiging aggressive sa defense ... and siyempre 'yung blockings pa rin [ay need ma-improve]," Laure said.
Unlike in the loss to Adamson where it had one too many errors, the España side was more efficient this time with only 15 mistakes in three sets.
UE's emerging star trio of skipper Ja Lana, KC Cepada and Vanessa Bangayan all had double-digit outings with combined 33 markers, but it couldn't save the Lady Warriors from losing a ninth straight game.
Next up for UE before the Holy Week break is FEU, while UST looks to enter the break on a high against unbeaten league-leader La Salle on Sunday.
