LA SALLE finally cracked the code on Wednesday, beating mighty National University, 25-10, 25-15, 25-21, and remain unbeaten in the UAAP Season 85 women's volleyball tournament on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The Taft towers dominated the reigning champions in stunning fashion to match their perfect seven-game start in Season 76, which led to an eventual 14-0 prelims sweep and a stunning Finals loss to Ateneo despite a thrice-to-beat incentive.
Captain Mars Alba's 20 excellent sets paved the way for a combined 37 points for the Taft trio Angel Canino, Fifi Sharma, and Jolina Dela Cruz.
"After nung preseason [na natalo kami sa NU], sabi ko hindi pa nagsisimula 'yung laban," said Canino. "Ngayon, nanalo po kami. Pinakita namin kung ano po kami, kung ano po 'yung kaya namin ... ito kami as Lady Spikers."

Sharma captured in a few words the overriding emotion in the La Salle locker room.
"I'm just really proud of us."
Meanwhile, the once unbeatable Lady Bulldogs took another rare misstep with a troublesome second defeat just halfway through the prelims round.
This comes just under a year since ending the team's 65-year title drought with a perfect 16-game sweep in Season 84.
