MAKE it a hat-trick of wins for the streaking Golden Tigresses.

University of Santo Tomas kept the fire burning from its five-set conquest of La Salle with a gutsy 25-21, 20-25, 25-13, 27-25 triumph over Adamson in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

League-leading scorer Angge Poyos extended her perfect streak of double-digit scoring performances to four with 21 points along with eight receptions and five digs.

What changed from her rookie season to Year 2 with the black-and-gold? That 'puso, pride, palaban' spirit on display sharper than ever.

"'Yung pagiging matibay matalaga. Despite na natalo man kami nung first game, buo pa rin kami.

Even as she was under the weather, Reg Jurado was still España's ever-reliable unsung hero all over with 17 points , seven digs, and seven receptions.

    Still blazing in defeat

In her first seniors battle with her high school rival Poyos, Lady Falcons super rookie Shaina Nitura had a huge triple-double with 28 points on top of 13 digs and 12 receptions.

However, with a set point on hand to possibly force a fifth-set tiebreak, Nitura's attack error handed UST the victory after squandering several match points.

Adamson split its first four outings midway through the opening round of prelims play at 2-2, while UST has yet to lose again since being taken down by Far Eastern University in four sets on opening weekend.
