ATENEO scored back-to-back wins for the first time in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament - and it came courtesy of its victim for the last eight years.
It took five sets - with the fourth and fifth being extended - for the Blue Eagles to strike down the University of the Philippines, 15-25, 25-23, 27-25, 30-32, and 16-14, in their second-round opener on Saturday at Mall of Asia Arena.

Ateneo has had the last laugh over State U in the last five seasons in the women’s volleyball edition of the Battle of Katipunan,
The Blue Eagles' last loss against their neighbor school was back in Round 2 of Season 80 when the Fighting Maroons still had now-PVL stars Tots Carlos and Isa Molde steering the ship.
Adamson, Ateneo, and UP now share identical 3-5 records, with the Lady Falcons taking fifth-place by virtue of a superior set ratio.
