LA SALLE finished the first round of the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball tournament in the finest of forms with a dominant 25-17, 25-20, 25-22 decision over Far Eastern University on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Lady Spikers took the fight out of their Morayta counterparts early, leading by as much as eight in the opening frame.

A late 7-2 blitz in a close second set then gave the green-and-white more than enough space to pull away in another strong showing from third-year star wingers in Shevana Laput and Angel Canino.
The La Salle we know
After early losses to last year’s finalists National U and University of Santo Tomas, the Lady Spikers made amends for their worst start to a UAAP campaign in almost two decades by ending Round 1 on a four-game win streak.
Conversely, the Lady Tamaraws saw their three-game unbeaten run end, as they close out the first half of prelims play with a 4-3 record.
