THIS year, La Salle is aiming higher.
The Lady Spikers are back in the finals after ousting University of Santo Tomas, 25-22, 11-25, 25–21, 25-21, in the UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball Final Four on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
This will be the storied collegiate women's volleyball program's 21st finals appearance - and 13th in the last 15 seasons.

Taft’s most important breakthrough of the season yet capped off a hat-trick of wins over the España side on the heels of a four-match skid since the start of Season 86 prelims play.
After taking the driver’s seat early, La Salle got stomped come the second frame when Angge Poyos & Co. pulled away with a 14-point romp to draw level.
But in the end, the desire to exorcise the ghost of its Season 86 heartbreak to the Golden Tigresses in the Final Four overcame everything else for the green-and-white.

This will also be the the Lady Spikers' third title series in the last four seasons after splitting the last two with defending champion National U with a Season 84 bridesmaid finish and a Season 85 redemption championship.
At the same time, La Salle will try to claim a lucky 13th championship for Ramil de Jesus, who has been coaching them for 28 years and running.
Tamed Tigresses
On the other hand, a finals encore wasn’t meant to be for UST, as missing out on the twice-to-beat advantage dashed their title hopes once and for all.
Just last Wednesday, the two teams also met in the middle of the taraflex in the playoff for No. 2, with the Lady Spikers also coming out on top of the Golden Tigresses.
