NO upsets this time as Far Eastern University got back at first-round tormentor University of the Philippines, 25-21, 25-16, 14-25, 26-24, in UAAP Season 87 women’s volleyball on Sunday at Araneta Coliseum.
The Lady Tamaraws turned a four-set loss the first time around last Feb. 19 into a four-set win of their own to underline their Final Four credentials in a tight race for semis places.

Since winning the first two sets, FEU left the door open for the Fighting Maroons to get right back into the contest.
State U went on to lead by as much as 11 at 23-12 and even fired nine unanswered points from 3-12 down in the fourth set.
From there, the green-and-gold refused to hand the Fighting Maroons another morale-boosting comeback and sealed a hard-earned seventh win in five sets.
The Lady Tams drew level once more with University of Santo Tomas in third-place at 7-4 with their third win in their last four matches.
Only this time, the Golden Tigresses have a slight upper hand over their Morayta counterparts by virtue of a superior set ratio.
By securing a vengeful victory, FEU avoided a two-game season-sweep to the UP it last experienced back in Season 84.
The Lady Tamaraws' win allowed National U to clinch the first Final Four ticket, as the Fighting Maroons could no longer match the defending champions’ nine-win haul.
UP goes down
The Fighting Maroons couldn’t capitalize on a golden opportunity to draw level with FEU in the standings - and rather remain at No. 5 with a 5-6 card.
They still haven’t won three in a row in a UAAP women’s volleyball campaign, also since Season 84.
