With setter and team captain Tin Ubaldo making the plays, Gerz Petallo (12), Mitzi Panangin (11), and Chenie Tagaod (11) had the means to provide for the Lady Tamaraws.
“As a captain, gusto ko lahat kami nagsa-shine sa loob ng court,” Ubaldo expressed after after churning out 13 excellent sets for their second straight win in the season.
“Sa team namin, as a setter, ayoko na isang player lang ‘yung nakaka-double digit (scoring).”

At the same time, the veteran playmaker makes it a point to ensure that each and every one of them equally carries the big burden of chasing championship No. 30 in UAAP Season 87.

Tin and Tina connection
It also doesn't hurt that Ubaldo has long been mentored by Tina Salak, a legendary setter in Philippine volleyball.
“Malaking tulong kasi dati rin siyang setter,” she remarked about the 1995 UAAP Best Setter-turned-Lady Tamaraws head coach.

Still, Ubaldo clarified that their tactician actually doesn’t want to interfere in terms of technique.
“Pero lagi niyang sinasabi sa akin tuwing naglalaro na diskarte ko pa rin ‘yung gagawin ko. Every time maglalaro, dapat may sarili akong style, strategy, sariling play,” the 22 year old noted.
After all, Tin is the one making the plays on the taraflex - and coach Tina is just the one imparting wisdom onto a young yet determined FEU core.
