TINA Salak will go down as one of the most important figures to have ever represented Far Eastern University in the UAAP, both as a player and a coach.
The 48-year-old setter-turned-coach won two UAAP titles back in 1998 and 2001 out of the green-and-gold’s league-best 29 women’s volleyball championships.
Almost two decades later, the Lady Tamaraws' search for title No. 30 trudges through.

Season 86 was their best chance yet, as the Lady Tamaraws were one win away from making the finals, only to fall short to twice-to-beat National U in the Final Four.
Now back in a position where it is one win away — this time, from a return trip to the semis — Salak is humbled by the privilege of possibly being the ‘chosen one’ to bring that 30th crown to Morayta once and for all.
“As one of the members noon sa FEU volleyball program, then ako yung may chance na makapagbigay ng 30th [championship], isang milestone yun sa career ko,” Salak said.
Be Brave through and through
Wherever this journey takes Salak and the rest of the Lady Tamaraws, this one’s for the FEU community.

“‘Di ko pwedeng kalimutan din yung FEU du’n sa tiwala na binigay nila sa’kin, handling this team, this situation, for my personal growth and the community,” the player-turned-coach said.
“Ibabalik ko lagi sa community kung ano yung pwede kong ibigay. 'Di kami pwedeng magreklamo, tanggap lang. Du’n din namin mapapatunayan kung hanggang saan yung kaya ng team.”
