NATIONAL University continued its mastery of rival University of Santo Tomas in UAAP Season 87 with a 76-70 escape on Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena to remain alone atop the women’s basketball standings.
The Lady Bulldogs staged a killer 13-0 run flipping the game from a 59-57 deficit to a 70-59 lead midway through the fourth quarter.
Camille Clarin paced National U with 21 points, as she kept her side afloat by scoring 18 in the first half. She also laced that performance with seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block.

Cielo Pagdulagan scored seven of her 17 points in the fourth quarter, alongside six boards, two assists, and one block; Karl Ann Pingol chimed in 11 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two blocks; and Angel Surada had eight points, six boards, one assist, and one block.
“I’m happy with how our players responded even though UST jumped at us early. We did not lose that focus we should be having for 40 minutes and part of why we came back because CC (Clarin) got some baskets early on,” said coach Aris Dimaunahan, as the Lady Bulldogs stayed unscathed through 11 games and repeated their 75-69 first round win.
Tacky Tacatac paced UST (9-2) with 21 points, three assists, and two steals, while Kent Pastrana registered 14 points, six rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block in the losing cause.
