ALYSSA Solomon threw her name in the mix as one of four Filipino players in the 2025 Korean V-League (KOVO) Asian Quota Draft.

For the most part, the opportunity to take her talents overseas came unexpected.
With the help of an unnamed agent who reached out in the earlygoing of UAAP Season 87, Solomon might just become the third Filipino after MJ Phillips and Iris Tolenada to play in the Land of the Morning Calm.
“Biglaan lang siya since focused ako sa UAAP that time and biglang may nag-approach sa’kin na agent and sinabi kung gusto ko raw po ba mag-tryout sa KOVO,” the two-time National U best opposite spiker said.
“Sinabi ko po kung online lang ba or kailangan ko po ba pumunta du’n (Korea). Sabi naman online lang, so wala akong magiging problema du’n basta mag-submit lang daw ako ng files na kailangan po.”
This year’s drafting process being held remotely made it much easier for the reigning UAAP Finals MVP to accept the offer to join the 45-woman draft pool.
That's of utmost importance, as that has allowed Solomon to stay locked in on the Lady Bulldogs' title defense, while concurrently taking the first steps towards the next chapter of her career.
“Diyan lang siya (KOVO Draft) muna. Mas focused po ako dito sa UAAP,” Solomon assured.

In the event that luck won’t go her way in Korea, there are still several options for her to consider, including one last UAAP season for NU, entering the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft, or aiming for another overseas league.
At least for now, Solomon won’t go into details on her Plan B. But she did guarantee that one is already in place.
“May isa pa po akong option,” Solomon said.
